Why Visit Us

The Reverend George L. Fox Memorial Chapel and Museum in Gilman, Vermont, offers a powerful opportunity to experience a story of faith, courage, and sacrifice.

Reverend George L. Fox was one of the heroic Four Chaplains who gave his life aboard the USAT Dorchester on February 3, 1943, after helping soldiers to safety and giving away his own life jacket. His legacy of unity and selflessness continues to inspire generations.

Our museum is open by appointment only, allowing guests to explore historical artifacts, personal items, military honors, letters, photographs, and exhibits that bring Rev. Fox’s life and legacy into clear and meaningful focus.

Below is a sneak peek of some of the remarkable history and memorabilia you can experience during your visit.

Whether you are a history enthusiast, part of the military community, an educator, or simply seeking a place of reflection, we invite you to schedule an appointment and encounter this extraordinary legacy firsthand.
